    • Blue Coat Classroom Visits: View a lesson in action, and interact with students directly to see how Blue Coat is merging innovation and teaching and learning fundamentals.

    • Workshop - Delivering  Effective Feedback: see how alignment of policy with Education Endowment Foundation recommendations supports the delivery of highly impactful feedback.

    • Workshop - Developing High Quality Assessment: review Dylan Willams' work on 'minute-by-minute assessment and leveraging real time data to inform next steps and planning.

    • Artificial Intelligence Exploration: participants will explore the advantages and risks of AI and its potential to reduce teacher workload.

DNA of Learning
The ‘DNA of Learning', redefines the fundamentals of education - Direct Instruction, Independent Practice, Feedback, and Assessment - for the modern era. Attendees will explore how practical, research-based approaches to teaching and learning can be enhanced through the use of technology and personalisation.

Effective Feedback

Delegates will get a hands on session with iPad and the experience an efficient and cost saving approach to giving feedback. This session will be aligned with the research from the EEF (Education Endowment Foundation). It will provide an opportunity for reflection on your schools feedback policy.

Classroom Visits

Delegates will have the opportunity to visit Blue Coat classrooms and view a lesson in action, as well as interact with students directly, in order to:

  • Experience how The Blue Coat School leverages a technology-rich environment to optimise and amplify their most valuable resource - teachers                        
  • See how students share their learning in personalised and creative ways, supporting more engaged learning while helping teachers gather more insight into student progress

Formative Assessment Strategies

Hands-on with iPad to experience the power of ‘Minute by Minute’ assessment. Delegates will explore research-based approaches to assessment in a iPad environment.

2.00PM

Artificial Intelligence

Delegates will have a hands-on experience where AI is used to reduce workload and see the opportunities for internal professional development. This session will provide an insight into the risks and benefits of using AI in schools, and will share practical examples and prompts that can be implemented immediately.

2.30PM

Group Discussion & Reflections 

The final session will provide a guided opportunity for delegates to reflect on their learnings, share their thoughts, consider next steps, and ask questions.

3.00PM

Wrap up

Delegates will have the opportunity to provide feedback on the day, and will receive sample policies and supporting documentation to take away.

Abdul Chohan

VP of Learning

Since 2012, Abdul has spoken to thousands of educators around the world, helping them successfully develop, implement, and support research-based learning strategies enhanced by technology.

He is a teacher of 20 years, as well as a former headteacher and CEO of a Multi Academy Trust in the UK. He is the founder of a free school, and an Apple Distinguished Educator.
In July 2020, Abdul joined Showbie as VP of Learning.
