Join us at Barlows Primary School for a half-day workshop designed for schools using (or interested in using) iPad to support teaching and learning.
 
At this event, you’ll explore how research-based approaches can be effectively integrated into a technology-rich environment, and used to support your school improvement strategy.

Hear from Headteacher Stacey Feenan on how Barlows Primary has taken a pedagogy-first approach to their technology usage, and take part in a series of workshops presented by Abdul Chohan, VP of Learning at Showbie, including:

    • Developing High Quality Assessment: review Dylan Wiliams’ work on ‘minute-by-minute assessment’ and discuss best practices - including how to leverage real time data to inform next steps and planning.

    • Delivering Effective Feedback:: see how alignment of policy with Education Endowment Foundation recommendations supports the delivery of highly impactful feedback.

    • Leveraging Artificial Intelligence: participants will explore the advantages and risks of AI in the classroom. This session will provide practical examples that can be implemented without delay.

The ‘DNA of Learning', redefines the fundamentals of education - Direct Instruction, Independent Practice, Feedback, and Assessment - for the modern era. Attendees will explore how practical, research-based approaches to teaching and learning can be enhanced through the use of technology and personalisation.

9:10AM

Integrated Assessment and Effective Feedback Workshop

Delegates will get a hands on session with iPad and the experience an efficient and cost saving approach to giving feedback. This session will be aligned with the research from the EEF (Education Endowment Foundation). It will provide an opportunity for reflection on your schools feedback policy.

Artificial Intelligence Session

Delegates will have a hands-on experience where AI is used to reduce workload and see the opportunities for internal professional development. This session will provide an insight into the risks and benefits of using AI in schools, and will share practical examples and prompts that can be implemented immediately.

11.10AM

Group Discussion & Reflections 

The final session will provide a guided opportunity for delegates to reflect on their learnings, share their thoughts, consider next steps, and ask questions.

Wrap up

Delegates will have the opportunity to provide feedback on the day, and will receive sample policies and supporting documentation to take away.

Abdul Chohan

VP of Learning

Since 2012, Abdul has spoken to thousands of educators around the world, helping them successfully develop, implement, and support research-based learning strategies enhanced by technology.

He is a teacher of 20 years, as well as a former headteacher and CEO of a Multi Academy Trust in the UK. He is the founder of a free school, and an Apple Distinguished Educator.
In July 2020, Abdul joined Showbie as VP of Learning.
